One hour hiking starting at just a thin layer of snow on the ground. Perfect for boots. Ending in snow more than knee deep. Not suited for boots only at all.
Getting of the wet inner layer of wool. New dry clothing, layer upon layer.
Really, really dissatisfied with the result, but I had to stop in the end as light got dimmer and dimmer.
Chill entered my body, but I knew warmth would take place within me if I just kept going. After a few hundreds meters the numbness left my feet.
This is routine now.
